Why athletes eat banana

Everyone who watches a sports event on TV every now and then has probably noticed many of the athletes treating themselves to a banana in the breaks. Especially runners and cyclists use the banana very often during their sports. The reason for that is not an unstoppable greed for banana. Rather it’s the loss of magnesium when you sweat, leading to uncomfortable and often painful muscle cramps if not quickly re-compensated. Banana contains a lot of magnesium, which therefore makes it a useful snack for the perfect health care. So, if you’re not actually engaged in any sports, then at least pretend and have some banana.
